Alexandra, again, I love reading your writing on Tuesdays :) — I’m applying to work in an afterschool careship for students whose parents are still working and have no one to get home to. They’re severely understaffed at the moment or only find seniors to do the work, so even though i know i’m a traveller, i decided to work there instead of a bakery or some call-center work. I know I’m getting paid for it, but it’ll be much more fun to hang out with these kids and be creative with them. I also used to be in an afterschool careship as my single mother used to work, so it’s my way of giving back those wonderful afternoons I had as a child.
What an absolutely amazing project and good on you for your passion to work there! I don't see any issues at all about getting paid for good work. You should! Time I believe is the resource that we can make the biggest difference with. And using our working hours for impact is just the best!
